Matches
- Please ensure that you are regularly checking the Spond App. We will be using this platform to share all important updates, including training schedules, match details and general club information.
- If we put out a Poll on Spond, please respond at the earliest opportunity.
- Once the season fixtures are released, please update Spond with your availability for all games. The advance notice helps with the team planning beyond just the upcoming match.
- If you become unwell and are unable to play within 48 hours of a game, it's crucial to inform your Captain/Manager directly by telephone. Additionally, please try to find a replacement player and indicate this on the Spond App.
- Remember, while you are a valued member of Grasshopper Netball Club, netball is a team sport. Your consistent availability for matches and training is highly important as other team members rely on your participation.
- Attendance at training sessions is expected, as a significant portion of your membership fee contributes to these sessions.
- Please be aware that if you haven't been attending training, you may not be included in the starting lineup for the following games if we have more than seven available players.
- Regional players should also note that selection for the following game is not guaranteed.
Matches
- Ensure that you have removed all jewellery and cut your nails before the game (training included) and we advise jewellery be left at home.
- Make sure you arrive at least 15 minutes before the game is due to start in order to warm up thoroughly. Use only half the court for your team’s warm-up. Allow the opposition to use the other half.
- Ensure your team has tossed with the opposing team before the match is due to start and that the Umpires have been informed regarding the first centre pass etc.
- During the game, if you disagree with a call, please remain calm and try to refocus. Maintain your standard of play and professionalism. If any issues arise, the Captain is the only person who should address the Umpire(s) quietly and politely during an interval. The Umpire's decision is final and should be accepted gracefully. Under no circumstances should you challenge a decision during active play.
- Please refrain from engaging in arguments with the umpire, opposition players, or your own teammates.
- Swearing on the court is not permitted at any time.
- After the game, remember to shake hands with your direct opponent before leaving the court.
- Finally, at the end of the game, and before leaving the court, please join in giving three cheers to the opposing team and the umpires.
