Training & Trials 2020/21 SeasonThanks must go to Kate Garner and Donna Osborn for co-ordinating our training sessions. At the moment, due to the lack of netball for months, we have decided that training is for everyone every week as we get to grips with the modified game and rules (see below). We abandoned our trials this year, due to lack of playing time.
This year, due to the Covid-19 situation our new training venue has to be outdoors and is: New College, Glenfield Road, Leicester, LE3 6DN promptly from 7.30-8.30 pm (but arrive 15 minutes early to complete all the Covid-19 requirements). Everyone attending training needs to have full membership to our Club and to England Netball (unless you are a new player considering joining us), but everyone also needs to complete an opt-in form and be prepared to scan a QR code into their telephone upon arrival (Covid-19 compliance requirements).

Sadly, at the moment, since Lockdown 2, we have been unable to play any netball games and school venues have not been open for hire either. No netball is therefore happening on court. However, we are providing online fitness sessions for all Club members – at 2 different levels. On Tuesdays at 7 pm, we have a Strength & Conditioning session for 40 minutes (more gentle exercise, but still strenuous, with challenge at different levels). On Wednesdays at 7 pm, we offer our members a strenuous, challenging HIIT session for 40 minutes. If the time is not suitable for you, these can be downloaded afterwards for you to do at a time that suits you.
Please watch this space – and look out for our Newsletters and other important information that is regularly circulated to all this year’s Club members - by our Secretary.
A Wednesday training night has freed up Thursdays so that more senior players are available to help out with our youth set up (we fielded 6 teams last season). Our youth players are the Grasshopper players of the future and as
soon as the adults are sorted out, we plan to restart youth training on Thursdays, but there is still a lot of work to do before this can happen!
Please note that new game rules apply - they have been emailed out to existing members. You MUST make time to read them, but these rules state that it is our individual responsibility to adhere to the following:
